Experience Nozawa Onsen Village from the comfort of a modern, self-contained apartment with a relaxed countryside farmhouse style.
Nozawa Onsen Basecamp is an apartment building offering mainly two-bedroom apartments, along with shared laundry facilities, a gear room, and a lounge/playroom. Located in the heart of the village, the property sits in a quiet spot nestled against the mountain, conveniently positioned halfway between Oyu Onsen and the Nagasaka Gondola.
For skiers and snowboarders, the main gondola is just a 200-metre walk in one direction, while the escalator to the ski school, main Hikage ski area, and the other gondola is approximately 200 metres in the opposite direction.
Restaurants, cafés, bars, nightlife, shops, and the famous onsen-hopping experience are all just steps away. With its central location, Nozawa Onsen Basecamp is also an ideal base for exploring the wider region.

Nozawa Onsen is an ideal base for exploring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of northern Nagano and Niigata. From Nagano and the Japan Northern Alps to the west, Joetsu and Niigata to the east, Yuzawa and Shiga Kogen to the north, and Lake Nojiri to the south, the surrounding region offers an incredible variety of places to discover.
Along the way, you’ll find historic towns such as Obuse, Suzaka, Nagano, and Tokamachi, as well as castle ruins, temples, traditional villages, and hidden communities deep in Japan’s famous Snow Country, including Nozawa Onsen and Akiyamago.
In winter, the region comes alive with world-class skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities. During the warmer months, the landscape opens up to a much wider range of outdoor experiences, from hiking and cycling to activities on the rivers, lakes, and mountains.
Fresh mountain spring water, seasonal local cuisine, and the warm hospitality of the region’s communities are all part of the experience. Whether you’re here for adventure, culture, food, or simply to slow down and enjoy the countryside, Nozawa Onsen makes a great base for discovering the region.

The apartments are fully furnished, self-contained two-bedroom units, equipped with fitted kitchens, appliances, and crockery. Each apartment also features a bathroom with a high-tech Japanese toilet, shower, towels, and toiletries.
The bedrooms are designed for a comfortable and restful stay, with quality bedding, fresh linens, and warm quilts for a good night’s sleep.
We believe the village environment has a refreshing quality that invites you to slow down, reconnect with your surroundings, and experience a simpler way of life that has remained part of Nozawa Onsen for generations.
